● Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence and was the third President of the United States . He was also a great architect (建筑师) . Monticello is the home that Thomas Jefferson built . Monticello means “little mountain” in Italian . Jefferson started building the mansion (宅第) on a hill near Charlotteville, Virginia , in 1770 .
